Calorie deficit is key

There’s a lot of wishful thinking around weight loss, but the bottom line is that you need to use more calories than you take in, so stay focused on ways to reduce your calorie intake.

Know your daily calorie budget

Energy requirements will vary from person to person depending on sex, age and how active you are. Find out how many calories you should be consuming each day and stay within it.

Track your intake

If you can, take note of how many calories you’re consuming each meal. Calorie counting is not without its issues, but it is the best way to make sure you stay in deficit.

Think about after

What is the best way to lose weight?

The only way to lose weight is by achieving a calorie deficit, and one of the best ways to reduce your calories is by monitoring your daily calorie intake, also known as calorie counting. MACROS Weight Loss plan makes this easy. We do all the calculations for you, every meal on the plan is dietitian-designed for weight loss, and all calories and macros are clearly marked on our packaging. 

How many calories should I eat to lose weight?

In order to lose 400g to 500g per week, reduce your daily calorie intake by 500 calories and support this with 30 minutes of exercise a day. But please note that everyone’s needs differ depending on age, gender, BMI and other health and lifestyle factors. 

Is diet or exercise more important to lose weight?

While exercise is vital for overall health and can boost weight loss, maintaining a calorie deficit is the real key to weight loss. Can you build muscle and lose weight at the same time?
